Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Review

The Legion Pro 7i (16-inch, 2025) is not the kind of device to take with you, but if you want a stay-at-home laptop with a bright, beautiful display and performance to boot, this is a great choice.

In many cases, the answer is a resounding, yes. Portability and price aside, it’s almost perfect. Traditional rivals, in the form of Asus’ Zephyrus and MSI’s Raider, will soon be dropping, but the Legion Pro 7i will be ready and waiting. Its high RRP means it’s just a smidge too expensive to win our top honours outright – the cheaper MSI Crosshair is a better choice for those on a budget. However, when the sale price is taken into account, the Lenovo edges ahead.

This gen9 Lenovo Legion Pro 7i is now a mature notebook and arguably one of the most interesting options in the high performance and gaming segment. With an utilitarian design and excellent ergonomics, now paired with a modern IPS display and latest-gen powerful hardware, this attracts lots of attention, especially since Lenovo prices it more aggressively than most of its rivals. But this series fails to meet the mark in two crucial areas: audio quality and especially chassis temperatures under load.

This refreshed 2025 Lenovo Legion Pro 7i chassis comes with some questionable aesthetic and ergonomics changes, but the pairing of the excellent performance capabilities with the premium build quality, the beautiful display, and competitive pricing will most likely put this laptop on many desks (or better yet, stands) this year.
