The Asus ROG Strix G16 (2025) gets a lot of things right. Especially with its performance and design. And although it's not the best bang for your buck, it's certainly a compelling gaming/creator laptop for the price.

Like it's bigger 18in Scar cousin, the ROG Strix G16 is largely similar to its predecessors. Sure, it's had a redesign but we don't think that will matter to most folks. If you're eyeing this machine, you already know what you want and chances are high you won't be disappointed... as long as you have the money to spare. All this performance doesn't come cheap.

The Asus Strix G16 G615 series is a competitive option in the space of 16-inch high-performance laptops for serious gaming and workloads. It's more affordable than the Strix Scar 16 lineup, as that offers a miniLED display, an arguably better keyboard and some extra design perks. But otherwise, it's the same chassis and functionality, and performs similarly. Just make sure you're OK with its particularities such as the keyboard layout and design or the fact that it is only available with matte IPS panels, and get it for the right price.
Pros
- refined chassis design, aesthetics and RGB, with a minimalist gray theme
- good inputs, decent IO
- good IPS display, just get the 2.5K 240Hz option if possible
- plenty powerful in sustained loads and games
- runs cooler and quieter in the sub-5080 variants
- good audio with quad-speakers
Cons
- sharp edges, rather bland looking
- weird keyboard design with only zone RGB control
- high internal temperatures, especially on the CPU
- poor camera
