Sony's newest 'budget' in-ears have enough upgrades over the previous version that they're worth picking up even if you already own the C700Ns, which makes them a must-buy if you don't already have a pair of Sony's C-line in your bag. Excellent audio, improved noise cancelling, and a better battery are all yours for the taking, for a mere R3k. The clear case is also a winner, but there are also boring opaque case and bud shades if you're tired of taking risks.

If you're a regular on LinkedIn and only semi-regular at your office desk, the Epos Adapt E1 buds may be the most suitable in-ears for you. The H3 Wireless Earbuds are Soundpeat’s most expensive earphones. Although they sell for $150, they can (usually) be found on sale. The H3s are well built and sound quite good. The ANC is not as complete as Apple’s, but none are, especially at this price. If you want good comfort, a reasonable price, good ANC and great sound, this is a good deal.

The Nothing Ear (3) is undeniably the most stylish pair of Nothing earbuds to date. You'll pay more for these than other models the brand has released, but you're getting a stylish new case and some seriously great audio to make it worthwhile.

Honor got a lot right with the Earbuds Open. The unique design of the earbuds where the sound tube sits outside the ear means there's absolutely no fatigue even with all-day use, and they're among the most comfortable earbuds I've used yet. I don't know how Honor managed it, but the earbuds have a terrific sound signature with powerful bass and good vibrancy, and they pair well with diverse genres. Combine all of that with good battery life and IP54 dust and water resistance, and it's no wonder these are among the best open earbuds.

While the Creative Aurvana Ace Mimi won't wow you with their noise-canceling performance, your ears will almost certainly appreciate the sound quality you get from them.

Motorola is slowly evolving into a fashion brand, and there's no product that represents that better than the Moto Buds Loop. These are stylish open earbuds lined with dazzling crystals by Swarovski, and sound by Bose. With three brands in play, it's no surprise the Buds Loop are excellent. They'll be hard to recommend at their high price point, though. Check Amazon

Nothing's Ear 3 are a vibrant third-generation revision to the brand's truly-wireless headphone line, and they pack a punch.
