Although the Hori USB Camera for Nintendo Switch 2 has a flexible design, making it easy to use in handheld or TV mode, its weak 480p resolution results in blurry picture quality and underwhelming color reproduction. Yakuza Kiwami 2 has been ported effectively to Nintendo Switch 2, with performance that compares well with the PS4 version in both handheld and docked mode. Sure, some of the technical issues from the past still stand – the targeted 30fps framerate and occasional drops cause gameplay to lack the fluidity of the first Yakuza Kiwami – but the streamlined combat, engaging story, and typical zaniness of the series is strong here. Yakuza Kiwami feels great on Nintendo Switch 2, and performs at a smooth 60fps, displaying at 1080p. Loading times are kept snappy, and with a rare exception, cutscenes look as good as you’d hope. Easy way to transport your Switch 2

If you still regularly play your old GameCube and/or Wii console (or want to enjoy the Switch 2’s GameCube library with something a little more bespoke), then I strongly recommend the BattlerGC Pro wireless controller. This is an excellent GameCube-esque pad that combines cross-generation compatibility with quality features like Hall effect sticks, remappable back buttons, and gyro aiming. Despite some middling battery life, this is an excellent controller for revisiting some retro favorites with. Check Amazon

The long-awaited Nintendo Switch 2 evolves the formula with more powerful hardware and a much better display – but battery life suffers

The Switch 2 isn't as exciting or innovative as you might want or expect from the big N, but it proves that even when Nintendo plays it safe, there's still a unique magic to be found.

With redesigned joycons that satisfyingly click into place, handy rear-stand and larger display, the Switch 2 is a modest but thoughtful improvement on it's predecessor that cements its status as the premier handheld gaming platform. The price tag is an issue though.

It's rare to see Nintendo's hardware leapfrog the software side of things like it has with the Switch 2. It's not a good look for a brand-new console, even if we are technically impressed by its capabilities. While spectacularly fun, Mario Kart World is not everyone's cup of tea, and that's okay. Unfortunately, if you're one of those, you're effectively waiting for Nintendo's software to play catch-up. Give it a few months, and we might be singing a different tune.

If you're looking for a new gamepad to complement that brand-new Switch 2, Ninty's new Pro Controller can fill the void, assuming you can stomach the extravagant price. Mind you, there's a lot here: customisable rear buttons, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a 45-hour battery life chief amongst 'em. Even so, it still just falls short of living up to its price, with the original Pro Controller presenting more bang for your buck.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is the company's latest hybrid home console, with more powerful graphics and processing, a larger 7.9” LCD touch screen with support for HDR, and more online features.

The Nintendo Switch 2 Pro is a welcome upgrade from the original, with chunky buttons, and two extra triggers at the back that are remappable. Additionally, it has the same functions as Joy Con 2, minus being a mouse.

Third-party accessories can offer many of the features of OEM gear at a reduced cost. Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour isn't something I'd recommend to everyone as their first purchase for the Switch 2 if what you're after is fun first. But if you are intrigued by what's going under the hood of your new console, then this is still a highly insightful and playful way of learning about it. And the price of admission is at least cheaper than a ticket to the Nintendo Museum.

For now, its short list of killer exclusives and even shorter battery life are the only bad points marring an otherwise extraordinary piece of consumer electronics. It’s absolutely state-of-the-art. Buy it.

Faster performance with neat upgrades.

The Switch 2 has just enough new things to keep it interesting, but most importantly it lets you play original Switch and modern games with higher fidelity.

The Switch 2 might lack the gimmicks typically associated with a Nintendo console, but by refining an already excellent product, this follow-up is an easy win. It’s better in just about every way compared to the original 2017 Switch, with a better screen, smarter build and a more capable chip that’ll hopefully lead to more reliability down the line. It’s expensive, and the battery life is far from impressive, yet the Switch 2 is a worthy successor.

You’re paying a premium for that Nintendo polish, as the internals and functionality aren’t particularly game-changing. Nonetheless, this is a stylish, nicely-built camera that works well with the Switch 2 and even better with your computer.

Just like the console it launches alongside, the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller demonstrates refinement, rather than reinvention. Great ergonomics, the same stellar battery life but with faster charging, and useful additions like integrated audio and back buttons, help justify its high asking price.
